Guelph Activists Call for National Nutrition Program

According to poverty advocates in Guelph, the federal government needs to introduce a national strategy to replace the patchwork of volunteer and donation programs currently in place. Peter Thurley, a development coordinator for the Food and Friends program which operates 80 breakfast and snack programs in schools, said that Canada is one of the few industrialized countries that does not have a food program for children in place.
