Royal Galipeau, Conservative MP for Ottawa-Orleans, tabled a private member's motion in the House of Commons on May 11 encouraging the federal government to engage in dialogue with provincial and private sector partners about the state of youth nutrition in Canada. Mr. Galipeau's motion received support from the opposition NDP and Liberal parties.

As it effects so many facets of Canadian society, from our economic sector to our agricultural policy, making child and youth nutrition a national issue is crucial to ensuring Canada can take the right steps to reduce the long-term costs of managing our population in order to maintain economic viability in the years to come. CCYNPN welcomes Royal Galipeau's motion in the house.
